Easter 2009

I used to take the camera everywhere with me and have more pics than I knew what to do with, but now... well now I guess I'm just a slacker! So I do not have any pics of my childrens in their new easter clothes, no pics of Easter egg hunt at grandma's, but I do have a blury pic of Jamie's super awesome easter egg, and thanks to Brit a pic of Brendan coloring his first egg. We'll have to check with our super on top of things Grandma to see if she took some pics.

Easter was nice. Unfortunately Jamie had to work Easter morning, but the bunny still came, we still had dinner and an egg hunt with the granparents, and we still went to church to show appreciation to our savior for the true meaning of the day of celebration!

Happy 6th Birthday to our Kyla Bug!!!
O.k . , yes, her b-day was Feb. 26th, but I believe I allready pointed out in past blogs my lack of time issues. And can I say my computer is SO stinkin slow!!!? I really need to get my pic. program switched over to my lap top!!! Enough about me.
My nickname for Kyla is Bug, She's my little Bugga Boo. Grandpa and Daddy call her Beans. When asked at school what her middle name was she instantly replied Beans. '"Kyla Beans Huffman". Another one of my fav. stories about Kyla this year is when she was holding her newborn brother Brendan, she could barely resist giving him lots of kisses. Suddenly she yells "Mom he spit up!" Just as I wipe up his face I looked up at her. Her entire mouth was covered in spit up! Oh the things that make me laugh. He initiated her good! News update on Kyla's medical results from Albuquerque. All tests for diabetes came back negative at this time. The poor girl was so tired of being poked we were VERY happy! One test came back and said she may be allergic to gluten. We're supposed to have some more labs done. As she has been feeling O.k. lately we're putting off the labs to give her a break from being a pin cushion. Kyla is so spunky and fun! She's doing very well in Kindergarten this year and has really picked up reading very well. She's also fabulous at art and has great flexibility which helps her perform very well in dance. We were glad to celebrate the birth of our spunky little Kyla bugga beans Victoria Huffman!!!


Kyla had 2 parties one on her Birthday just with relatives and a Friend B-day party the following Saturday. As you might be able to tell from the cakes she had 2 Fabulous High School Musical Parties! Lots of fun with singing and dancing. G-ma Huffman took better pics that I may figure out how to post some day.

Busy

One word to describe my life....

BUSY!!!

I'm sure that most people can relate. Life is busy.

I recently decided I need to realize I'm not "superwoman",

at least this is what my sweet husband tries to convince me of.

But where does superwoman finally say I can't do it all?

Thank you friends and family that follow our blog. As you've seen it's been a while since the last update. I am still planning on keeping the Blog . ~~So K.I.T. ~~~Hopefully it won't take so long for the next update... I'll keep ya posted.

After Brendan wrestled down the sisters and grandpa, well let me revise that. after Brendan and the girls wrestled down Grandpa, Brendan was ready for a rest.

Silly, fun, spunky,and sweet!!!

We had a scare recently after Kyla was getting over a virus. She woke up in the night cold a sweaty. Listening to a hunch, Jamie checked her blood sugars. They were a low 42. A normal persons should run beteen 80 and 120. After getting her to eat, they jumped to 192. The next day the doc confirmed that she's probably developing type 1 diabetes. Confirming she not only inherited her dads good looks she's also inherited the diabetes. We feel very fortunate to have recognized the symptoms. We will know more after she sees a specialist in Albuquerque. She has been a trooper while letting us test her blood sugars, and stays as spunky as ever!

Harry Spotter

Brit recently auditioned for a part in a school Skit called Harry Spotter. Can you guess what it's a spiff off of? She really wanted the part of Roni (a.k.a. Hermione). She was very excited to get the part. She performed at the Farmington Arts Gala and although she admits butterfies were attacking her insides, she did a great job!!!

The SNOW is so delightful!

Let's go Sledding!

I had a great plan to spend New Years day sledding with friends. Seeing as how there was no snow in Farmington anymore (Yet). We decided to go up to Durango. We followed a friend up that had been sledding there before. After a 2 hr. drive we noticed the snow getting deeper and deeper. The spot that was originally used for sledding had so much snow we could barely find it. I would say up to my waist,which would be up to Kyla's shoulders. We back tracked to another area where other sledders seemed to be playing. Even here the snow was so deep it took the kids several minutes to manuever up the hill. Our friend Jen was clever and tried to make paths with a sled. She was even able to use a sled to pack down enough snow to put up her chair. This was after Jamie's attempt to pack down snow by jumping up and down it. His idea worked~It just took a little more effort! Eventually we found a previously used trail for sledding that we enjoyed very much. It was a beautiful drive. I love the Colorado Mountains!

The ironic part was, just 2 days after our adventure we got buckets of snow here in Farmington. And so of course Jen and I had to make use of it and take the girls sledding again, only this time it was only 2 minutes away.

Happy 2009!!!

We enjoyed ringing in the New Year with Family and Friends.
We are very blessed to have wonderful friends and an awesome family that continues to grow! We welcomed 2 new Nephews into the world this last year, and a beautiful boy of our own. We can't wait to meet our newest Nephew, Loki Rice, born January 5th(Congratulations Wes and Annie!)
And Derek and Rocio will have their third baby this summer.

Happy New Years to All! I pray 2009 will bring lots of happiness!

Girls Just Wanna Have FUN!!!

For New Years eve Brit and Kyla both chose a friend to sleep over.

Brit and Hailey did Fabulous makeovers, while Kyla and Aubrie played make belief in the fort on Brits top bunk.

Kyla and Britanie both had loads of fun at their class Christmas parties at school! Kyla's class did a super cute program for the parents, made gingerbread houses, exchanged gifts and played games. Britanie did a Christmas around the world. Made ornaments, had a pizza party and ice cream sundaes. Of course I can never say no to planning a party, and so I helped plan both. Brendan and I had fun Going back and forth between classes, and took a great nap afterwards.
